Mission Viejo Kitchen Project

By Kitchen Cabinets and Beyond Published Updated
Mission Viejo, CA, kitchen remodeling

A Mission Viejo kitchen built on the contrast between a white perimeter and a dark island — white shaker doors and drawers with brass bar pulls around the walls, and a single dark run through the middle of the room carrying a quartz waterfall top.

The island does the working storage: built-in wine racking and a glass-front cooler on one end, with seating on the other. Against the wall, a stainless hood sits over the range with a stainless backsplash behind it and a pot filler above, so the one part of the kitchen that takes heat and grease is the one part surfaced in something that wipes clean.

Wall ovens are stacked into the tall run rather than dropped under a counter, which keeps the worktop continuous and puts the oven door at chest height. The dining area is open to the room beyond the island.

Eleven photographs follow.
